Visitors can enjoy the diverse daily activities of Patagonian countrymen. Sheep shearing, cow milking, and lamb marking, cattle branding, herd management, visits to dairy farms and hatcheries, the production of artisanal cheeses, sweets, liqueurs and fine fruits, dressage shows and other Creole skills, folklore gatherings, and rural museums that showcase the history of the most deeply rooted customs. Exquisite wines accompany the classic Creole barbecue in the open air. In the afternoons, a cup of mate, shared as a sign of hospitality, completes a tempting invitation to enjoy the peace of Patagonia.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">La Pampa<\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Agricultural-livestock cattle ranches nestled amid the plains, valleys, hills, and the unique Cald\u00e9n forest in La Pampa are perfect accommodations for enjoying rural tasks: from learning how to saddle a horse to riding a sulky or plowing and harvesting alongside the countrymen. These cattle ranches are mostly near the localities of San Mart\u00edn de los Andes, Loncopu\u00e9, Alumin\u00e9, Jun\u00edn de los Andes, Zapala, and the outskirts of the city of Neuqu\u00e9n. There, sport fishing and horseback riding invite tranquility amidst beautiful landscapes. More than 86,000 acres of cultivated land allow visitors to discover the Pear and Apple Route and the Wine Route. The most renowned are: Truchaike, 30 km from R\u00edo Gallegos; \u201cMonte Dinero\u201d, on the Strait of Magellan, 120 km from R\u00edo Gallegos; \u201cMonte Le\u00f3n\u201d, located south of the town of Comandante Luis Piedra Buena; Helsingfors, on the southern shore of Lake Viedma; \u201cAlta Vista,\u201d near El Calafate; Huyliche, on the southern shore of \u201cLago Argentino,\u201d 3 km from El Calafate; La Cristina, on the arm of \u201cLago Argentino\u201d; and La Serena, on the shores of the \u201cLago Buenos Aires\u201d, between Perito Moreno and Los Antiguos; the Suyai and \u201cLagos del Furioso\u201d cattle ranches, located near lakes Posadas and Pueyrred\u00f3n, among others.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1661\" src=\"https:\/\/patagonia.gob.ar\/wp2025\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/Galpon-del-Glaciar-foto-Galpon-del-Glaciar-12.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Tierra del Fuego<\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>In the far south of Patagonia, the cattle ranches allow you to discover the secrets of sheep farming and the pioneering history told by their descendants in Tierra del Fuego. Sheep shearing is one of the most attractive activities in the far south of the South American continent.
