Institutional<\/h1>\r\n

The Official Regional Tourism Entity of Patagonia Argentina<\/span> is made up of the Official Tourism Bodies of the provinces of La Pampa, Neuqu\u00e9n, R\u00edo Negro, Chubut, Santa Cruz, Tierra del Fuego, Antarctica, and the South Atlantic Islands.<\/p>\r\n<\/div>\r\n

Its main purpose is to promote and coordinate official and private recreational tourism in Patagonia, based on purposes and policies that are consistent and concurrent with the harmonious economic and social development of the region. Patagonia was a pioneer in recognizing the need for regionalization to achieve these purposes. The first evidence of this concern dates back to 1965, when the 1st Meeting of the Board of Governors included tourism as a valid and alternative factor in the development of provincial economies. However, it was not until 1969 that the Northern Patagonia Regional Circuit was defined, which incorporated Chubut and later Santa Cruz and Tierra del Fuego, thus forming the entity initially known as \u201cTourist Comahue\u201d until its change in 1974 to \u201cArgentine Patagonia.\u201d<\/p>\r\n<\/div>\r\n

After more than 40 years of carrying out concrete actions aimed at reaffirming Patagonia’s regional identity and consolidating the integration that allows for solutions to common needs, the \u201cArgentine Patagonia\u201d entity continues to uphold the premise of defending and promoting a spirit of cooperation and agreement that makes it possible to unite and associate the region’s cultural distinctiveness, promoting these characteristics in order to enhance the development of the region and its inhabitants.<\/p>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n
