More than a hundred Popular Festivals take place in Patagonia throughout the year. Recognized for highlighting local traditions, these celebrations involve the inhabitants of the host community in organizing and attending events that pay tribute to the destination’s characteristic production or activity, or commemorate historical events.
In addition to their cultural value, they are a major tourist attraction with their resulting economic benefit for the local community, as the activities, shows, and cuisine featured in the event’s agenda attract large numbers of visitors, mainly from the region itself, who come to share the joy that these celebrations spread in each destination.
